The building built by Shah Cihan for his wife, who died at an early age, was considered a symbol to symbolize both the power of the dynasty and the greatness of the love between Shah Cihan and his wife. The Taj Mahal is not just a shrine. There are other buildings in this large structure. Basically, it consists of a gate, a mausoleum, a guest house and a mosque.
It is known that around 20 thousand workers worked alongside many masters in the architecture of the Taj Mahal, and the building was completed in 20 years. It is known that the building, which is located in a rectangular courtyard measuring 305 by 580 meters, also includes the 75-meter-high monumental dome. On the four sides of the monument, the entire Surah Yasin is written. It is known that although the sarcophagi of Shah Cihan and his wife are under the dome on the upper floor, their tombs are preserved on the lower floor. In the hall where the sarcophagi are located, it is said that the sound echo has an acoustics such that it is repeated 7 times. Except for the fact that the building is built of pure marble, it is known that there are emeralds, rubies, mother-of-pearl, agate, turquoise, diamonds and pearls on its inner walls.
